Senior Communication Designer

  • Full-time

Company Description

Sculpt is a social media marketing agency built for change. In a world where consumer expectations shift as fast as Facebook’s algorithms, we help our client’s brand story stay consistent and marketing keep pace.

Sculpt launched in 2012 with a goal to help the brands in our backyard connect with their human customers more humanly. Today, our community managers, strategists, and communication designers (hint: that’s you) have become the secret weapon of marketers and founders nationwide, helping build audiences that care, share, and convert.

Our small but mighty company is fiercely collaborative and ever evolving. Our ideal candidate understands the unique nuances of a team-oriented, agile work environment, and will jump at the chance to grow something special.

Also, we dig the color orange.

Job Description

It’s nearly 2018. We’re inundated with digital content, experiences, and platforms. Most marketers will tell you the secret to ‘stick’ is throwing more at the wall.

You see things differently.

You believe quality, considered design is imperative to effective communication, and there’s a method to the madness. You know a click isn’t just a metric, it’s a human with intent, so you get to know your user’s pains, goals, and interests before opening up Creative Cloud.

As the newest member of our multi-disciplinary creative team, you’ll be putting these principles into practice, but you won’t do it alone. You will collaborate with community managers and content/digital strategists to execute creative concepts that stop thumbs, stay consistent with brand standards, move people to action, and deliver on business objectives.

As our Senior Communication Designer, you will use your superpowers to weave imagery, layouts, typography, and iconography into deliverables that tell our clients’ story and drive results.

You will be involved in every step of the creative process, work in close collaboration with all teams, and have direct access to our clients to make exceptional work. Expect to infuse originality and intention into every project on your plate.

Let’s get into the nuts and bolts.

Visual Voice + Ad/Content Design:

You will conceive, produce, and deliver visual content that delivers our clients’ brand story across all marketing channels. You will lead the content production process for your clients, ensuring a standard of excellence on every creative deliverable leaving our shop. Your role as a creative team leader is to strategize and guide, as well as execute.

Expect to design for real-time social media campaigns, build variants of lead-generating ads, develop content style guides and templates for new clients, assist with presentations on art direction, and collaborate with team members on their deliverables. You will push the boundaries by proposing new formats, themes, and ideas, while carefully adhering to brand guidelines and specs.

Brand Identity:

Other times, you will be helping architect a brand system from scratch. Digging into customer insight, listening to the client’s vision, and creating an identity system that conveys that brand’s values, personality, and promise. In partnership with our Brand Strategist, you'll create the guidelines for how a brand's story comes to life and ensure that future creative delivers on that vision. During the brand exploration, you'll be collaborating on research, ideation, and concept testing with audiences. You understand and appreciate the business implications of branding and believe in the value of doing it well.

Creative Team Building and Problem Solving:

We are growth oriented. Forward thinking and future focused. When we run up against an obstacle, you seek to understand why and swiftly propose solutions. When it’s time for more hands-on-deck, you will help direct who we need, by when, and how we will find them. Within the year, it’s likely you will help create the environment where you can grow Sculpt's creative department based on our visions and goals. Inside of our creative team, you are both a role model and mentee, helping current and future team members do their best work, while listening and learning every day.

Client Relations:

When your clients want to know why, you give them the answer in their own language. You serve them as a professional guide to creative strategy and direction. You work with respect to their standards and approval process, and are focused on helping them achieve their goals.

Qualifications

You’ve been mastering your craft long enough to say ‘here’s what I’d do’ for a plethora of client and team scenarios. You are self-aware and know what growth means to you. You enjoy building and being part of teams, and appreciate the difference between leadership and management.
